A few lost feelings!!!!!

A hearty welcome to all of you for making it till here to read my first ever blog. My intention of writing this blog is to share with you all with what’s been going through with me in the past month or so. Since the last month many of my well wishing friends have been a little worried about something being wrong with me, and few others were wondering, what was keeping me so busy. Well first of all nothing’s been wrong with me, and I’m perfectly fine, and the truth is yes I have been busy and busy like hell during the start of this month (Feb). And what occupied my mind during this period has been a small assignment, which would eventually help me achieve the biggest milestone of my professional life.

Well before I actually raise the curtain, I would like to let you know what made the project all the more special apart from the reason mentioned. The assignment was given to me during the last week of Jan and starting then, till I completed the assignment, which was about Week 2 of Feb, I experienced some feelings that I thought had become oblivion to me, for about a year or two. Feelings namely anguish, frustration, pressure and yes of course happiness caused when you achieve something, this was so because since the time I have joined CA, my present company, most of the things came at virtually no cost barring an incident or two; there wasn’t anything that literally challenged my skill set. And while I was going through all this, most of my friends (You) were not aware of it except for a person or two and I apologize for that, but, the main intention behind it was to give you all a surprise ;). I would like to utilize this opportunity to thank the two individuals, who helped me stay focused and motivated me in getting the job done efficiently and yes of course many thanks to my friend Prem, who bought me this lovely iPod Shuffle during his recent visit to US, that let me flush out all the pressure listening to some wonderful music. Oh well and as expected I completed my assignment, but with a 2 week delay, though I was immensely satisfied with what I had done and I saw a similar kind of feeling of the reviewer too. Then what followed was a small round of interview which I fared good enough to get the nod, and I got the formal/official announcement that I had achieved what I intended to when I joined CA about ~3 years ago. Yes you guys are reading it correctly, I joined CA with a definite purpose and I feel elated to let you know that my goal has been achieved.

Ok, I think its time for me to raise the curtain, before I do an overkill, the fact is I joined CA with the intention of becoming Software Engineer and that’s exactly what I have achieved today, though officially I will take the chair in about 4 weeks time, but I have received an official communication enforcing the fact. The assignment that actually helped me scale the wall involved me writing a small piece of code to fetch the IP, MAC Address and hostname of a PC and after lots of frantic searching and code review I eventually ended finishing it successfully, albeit with a little glitch that my code was not good enough to get the MAC Address, but I had done enough to make the cut.

Well now for the next month or so it would be a dual job with me, investing about an hour or more with my new team along with running my current portfolio ;). Before you guys jump the gun let me make it, yes it is definitely party time so let the floor rock and the bottles roll.
